Retrospect Repairs & Restorations started as a project. Mike restored a run-down 1967 GMC Step Van and turned it into a mobile pie shop for his wife, Erin, and her business, Sunny Sky Pies.

Seeing a huge gap in the market for repair, and wanting to take the business further, the next year he entered the Larimer County Farmers Market and set up a mobile repair booth. It was a great way to converse with the public and gauge the interest in a potential general repair business. He was instantly busy with more than enough work to make it a full time job.

Mike and Erin spent the fall, winter, and spring turning a former hot sauce company's space on Link Lane into both a bakery and repair shop. After some remodeling, Mike got busy setting up shop, splitting time between getting organized and keeping up with customer projects.

As Mike works on the vast array of projects for his customers, he is also working toward helping the community fill that enormous market space for repair. He established Retrospect Resilience, a non-profit, to help grow the number of people doing this work as well as provide opportunities for community skill building.
